Subtle Thread
Privacy Policy
Subtle Thread is designed to keep your thoughts private and under your control.
Your Data
All thoughts, tags, and connections you create are stored locally on your device and may be synced privately through your iCloud account using Apple’s CloudKit framework. Subtle Thread does not store your personal thought data on its own servers.
Authentication
Subtle Thread uses Sign in with Apple and secure authentication services to identify your account. This allows your insights to remain consistent across your devices. Subtle Thread does not store passwords.
AI-Generated Insights
When generating insights (“Synthesis”), selected portions of your content may be sent securely to backend services for processing by AI models. This processing is used only to generate insights for you and is not used for advertising or profiling.
Backend Data
To support the synthesis feature, Subtle Thread stores limited backend data such as:
- Account identifiers used for authentication
- AI-generated insights
- Operational data such as request tracking and system reliability information
Subtle Thread does not store your full thought history on backend systems.
No Tracking or Advertising
Subtle Thread does not use advertising or third-party tracking. Your data is not sold or used for marketing purposes.
The app may collect limited, privacy-safe usage data such as whether a notification was opened. This data is used only to improve the app experience and does not include your thoughts, content, or personal text.
Account Deletion
You can delete your account at any time from within the app. This will:
- Delete your backend account and associated data
- Delete all thoughts and related data stored in your iCloud account by the app
